The garment comprises a plurality of fabric panels, at least two adjacent panels comprising a stretchable multilayer fabric, the stretchable multilayer fabric comprising a stretchable face fabric layer 6, a stretchable insulating fabric layer 10 inward of the face fabric layer, and a stretchable, breathable, waterproof layer 8 between the insulating fabric layer and the face fabric layer, and wherein some or all of the joins 2 between stretchable multilayer fabric panels are covered by a stretchable water-resistant tape 4. There is also disclosed a fabric for use in the constructions of such garments and a method of making such garments. Preferably the tape 4 comprises a breathable, waterproof adhesive 14, a fabric 12. Preferably the panels are joined by ultrasonic welding. The garments might be cycle shorts, trousers, tights, trunks, knickers or jackets. |
