abstract A submersible illumination unit 1 comprises a light source, a locating means and a power source (4, Fig 1). The locating means may be a drain plug 3 for use in a bath 29, a suction cup or a weight to hold the unit underwater. The light source preferably takes the form of an LED cluster (2, Fig 1) which may be coloured or combined with a movable colour filter. The power source is preferably a rechargeable battery. The unit may be switched on by an orientation switch (10, Fig 1) such as a mercury switch.
