abstract |
Apparatus for supplying blast to a blast furnace 1 comprises a plurality of hot blast stoves 4-6 with each stove 4-6 comprising a cold blast inlet 38, a fuel inlet 37, an air supply, a hot blast outlet 39 and a waste gas outlet 23. The apparatus further comprises a waste heat recovery unit 30 connected to a fuel supply 22b, the stove fuel inlets 37, the stove cold blast inlets 38 and the stove waste gas outlets 23. Blast is supplied to a blast furnace 1 from the apparatus by feeding stove waste gas from a first stove 5 and fuel in the form of blast furnace top gas to the heat recovery unit 30 where the stove waste gas heats the fuel. The stove waste gas is then fed to a second stove 4 as a cold blast where it is heated and then supplied to the blast furnace 1 while the fuel is fed to the first stove. |
