An audio or sound device, such as a hearing aid, having a polymeric coating thereon, the coating being formed by exposing the device or a component thereof to plasma comprising a compound of formula (I) where y is an integer of from 1 to 10, x is an integer of from 1 to 20, such as 1H, 1H, 2H, 2H-heptadecafluorodecylmethacrylate, for a sufficient period of time to allow a protective polymeric layer to form on the surface of the device. |
