| abstract | A removable self-centring magnetically-clampable pipe apparatus 12 comprising: a food-inspection pipe 14 having a tubular pipe body 16 with through-bore, and a first connector part 18 at each end of the pipe body defining first seating surfaces 20; and complementary second connector parts 22 which each define second seating surfaces 24, on which the first connector parts seat, one of the first and/or second connector parts 22 has a magnetically-attractable material and the other has at least one magnetic element 34, so that the first and second connector parts 18, 22 slidably engage and self-centre the pipe 14. The pipe may be a food-inspection pipe and may have a plurality of equi-angularly spaced magnetic elements. A food-inspection device 10 is also provided in addition to a method of improving hygiene of a food-inspection device 10. An inspection means may be an x-ray or visible inspection system. |
