abstract PYY peptides for use in the treatment of metabolic disorder, particularly diabetes, are disclosed. These are preferably piscine-derived PYY peptides. Preferably the peptide comprises the sequence TRQRY, YINLITRQRY, or ALRHYINLITRQRY. The fish from which the PYY may be derived includes bowfin, trout, sturgeon, or preferably sea lamprey. Preferably the PYY peptide is at least partially resistant to cleavage by dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPP-IV or DPP-4), resulting in a longer half-life. Preferably the peptide does not have a significant impact on patient appetite when compared to a comparable dose of human PYY(1-36). The PYY peptide may be administered in alternating combination with a GLP-1 receptor agonist, such as liraglutide.
