| abstract |
A modular building unit having a base frame 14 for supporting floor panels, a roof frame 20 for supporting roof panels 22 and a plurality of corner assemblies comprising upright columns 26, the roof frame having elongate roof members 24 extending between corner assemblies, at least part of the roof members have inner and outer walls connected by a base to form a U shaped channel or trough extending around at least part of the perimeter of the unit to act as a gutter. Corner assemblies may include a flow path to connect channels of adjacent roof members, and vertical drainage conduits or gutter downpipes may be located with the upright columns. Also claimed is a compressible resilient seal having an air cavity and serrated or undulating edge for locating on the inner walls of roof channels for sealing between channels and roof panels. Roof panels and elongate channels may have engageable complementary supporting formations. Elongate members may have stiffening formations e.g. folded lips. |
