abstract | 333,466. Andrews, W., and Imperial Chemical Industries, Ltd. Nov. 2, 1929. Hollow-ware. - Welded chemical apparatus formed from copper containing a small amount of deoxidant as described in Specification 332,894 may be welded by the oxy-acetylene or like gas welding process, with a welding rod consisting of copper together with small quantities of silver and deoxidant and coated with a deoxidant and flux applied by means of resin. The rod may consist of a copper alloy containing 0.5 per cent of silver and 0.06 per cent of phosphorus, and the coating may consist of 1 part of fluor spar mixed with 3 parts of a powdered deoxidant alloy containing 15 per cent of magnesium, 30 per cent of manganese and 50 per cent of silicon. The rod may also consist of a copper alloy containing 0.06 per cent of phosphorus silver plated with 0.5 per cent of silver, the coating consisting of 3 parts of ferro-silicon, 2 parts of phosphor copper, and 1 part of a mixture of equal parts of lime and felspar. Specifications 21012/13, 233.895 and 260,565, [all in Class 38 (iv), Metals, Working], are referred to. |
