abstract | Amber is subjected to an electrical charge of relatively high voltage, and is then exposed to artificial sun rays. Pieces of amber are packed in an ebonite tube with metal ends which are connected to the terminals of a spark coil, and treated for one or two minutes. They are then placed for five or ten minutes two feet from a 450-watt mercury vapour lamp. The amber is made into necklaces &c. and worn for the treatment of asthma, bronchitis, or goitre.ALSO:Pieces of amber are subjected to an electrical charge of relatively high voltage for example in an ebonite tube, and are then exposed to artificial sun rays and made into necklaces &c. for the treatment of asthma, bronchitis, goitre, &c. |
