[Class 80 (i)] [Also in Group II] In centrifugal reels, the sieve b is driven from the water shaft a by gearing comprising a toothed wheel i freely mounted, preferably on bearings h, on an eccentric g of the shaft, and engaging at one point with a larger internal gear-wheel. n attached to the sieve through a sleeve c. The toothed wheel i carries laterally projecting pins and rollers k which engage circular apertures m in a disc provided with a brake drum m<1>. A band brake o engaging the drum m<1> holds the disc or allows it to rotate freely whereby the drive is transmitted to the sieve 'with a reduced speed or is interrupted respectively. The gearing is enclosed in a casing e which is supported on a stand f and constitutes an oil-tight enclosure. Oil-scoops v are attached to the eccentric g. |
