Class 7(ii) In a moistening device attached to a carburetter air inlet and comprising a vessel 1 in which a constant water level is maintained by a float chamber 10, the air enters through a filter 2, sweeps across the water surface and escapes through a bell-shaped member 6 and outlet pipe 5. A gauze or perforated metal screen 7 situated at the water surface prevents splashing, and a similar screen 18 filters water drops from the air stream. The .pipe 5 is clamped to the carburetter inlet by a collar 8.tightened by a winged screw 9. In a modification, the pipe 5 is arranged at the side of the vessel 1 and. connected to the bell 6 by a further pipe. Alcohol or other anti-freeze substance may be added to the water. |
