abstract 684,052. Magnetic separators. SPODIG, H. Aug. 23, 1950 [Oct. 1, 19481. No. 20812/50. Class 72 [Also in Group XXXV] A permanent magnet device for picking up bits of magnetic material comprises two permanent magnets 1, 2 sandwiching a plate 3 of soft iron and two outer plates 4, 5 disposed adjacent to the remaining poles of the magnets. The dimension of the intermediate plate 3 relative to that of the outer plates 4, 5 may be as shown in Figs. 9, 10. The outer plates 4, 5 may be of semispherical or outwardly flared shape. A perforated cover 6 of diamagnetic material covers the free ends of the outer plates to form a collector space between it ,the outer plates and the magnets.
