| abstract | Level dyeings on synthetic linear polyamide textile materials are obtained by applying an acid dyestuff from an acid bath to which a salt of a naphthalene di- or tri-sulphonic acid has been added. The dyebath is preferably acidified with formic acid. The textile material may be in the form of continuous filament, staple fibre, knitted or woven piece goods and may be dyed in package form in a circulating liquor dyeing machine. Examples are given. Specifications 552,015, 584,758 and 626,446 are referred to. The Provisional Specification refers also to the use of anthraquinone- and di-isopropylnaphthalene-sulphonic acids. |
