abstract Aluminium alcoholates containing halogen of formula AlHaln(ORCl)m, where n+m=3, m being at least 1 and R is an alkylene radical, may be obtained by reacting aluminium halides with alkylene oxides. The compound AlCl(OC2H4Cl)2 is obtained by reacting ethylene oxide with aluminium chloride. They may be used in preparing waterproofing solutions (see Group VIII).
