A television picture reproducing and display arrangement comprises a cathode-ray picture reproducing tube 1 having a cylindrical screen 2 and so positioned with respect to a suitably curved mirror 10 that a picture reproduced on an operative area of the screen with one dimension (e.g. the vertical dimension) compressed with respect to the normal aspect ratio is seen by an observer as a substantially plane image of normal aspect ratio. For colour reproduction the screen 2 may be provided with colour phosphor strips and associated " indexing " and/or colour switching grid electrodes Specifications 648,257 and 718,652 are referred to. |
