titleOfInvention Photographic product and process
abstract 825,146. Photographic product and processes. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. Sept. 25, 1956 [Sept. 29, 1955], No. 29258/56. Drawings to Specification. Class 98(2) The product comprises a sheet having a photosensitive stratum including noble metal, ferric, diazo or bichromate materials an opaque backing on one face of such photosensitive stratum, and another sheet, there being provided a solution comprising reactants for these materials and also a material to render the solution opaque; and the process comprises spreading a similar opaque fluid on to such a photosensitive stratum while this is protected by opaque barrier layers, the opaque material in the solution serving to protect against edgewise penetration of light, so that a visible print resulting from exposure of the photosensitive stratum may be revealed on stripping off the latter together with the opaque fluid. In three examples described with reference to drawings (not 'shown) the photosensitive stratum is a gelatino iodobromide emulsion, the opaque solution comprises black dye, red dye and colloidal graphite respectively together with the customary transfer reagents and is contained in a rupturable container positioned to spread the solution on passage between pressure rollers after or immediately before exposure to produce a transfer print on a printreceptive sheet, using outer layers of black paper during the processing operation. Specifications 684,592, 685,685, 703,231, 751,304 and 789,837 are referred to.
