titleOfInvention | Improvements in or relating to vacuum vessels, having conductive inner surfaces |
abstract | 840,081. Discharge tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Dec. 24, 1958 [Dec. 30, 1957], No. 41653/58. Class 39(1). The electrical interconnection of the inner conducting layers 3, 4 of two separate parts 1, 2 of a hollow vacuum vessel, e.g. a cathoderay tube, is maintained over the sealed joint 8 by means of resilient members e.g. tungsten wire coils 7 secured to a metal member 6 in turn secured to inner wall of one of the ports. Wire coils 7 may be provided to engage both the layers 3, 4 and, in another embodiment, the member 6 clamps over a further metal member secured to the inner wall so that the member 6 and the coils secured thereto need not be inserted into the tube until just before the sealing operation. |
