titleOfInvention Improvements in or relating to a sulphonamide
abstract The invention comprises N-[21,61-dimethylpiperidyl-(11) ]-3-sulphamyl- 4-chloro-benzoicacid amide and its acid addition salts, and the preparation thereof by reacting a 3-sulphamoyl-4-chloro-benzoy halide with 1-amino-2,6-dimethyl piperidine or its salt in the liquid phase, e.g. in an inert solvent, preferably in the presence of a proton acceptor such as a tertiary organic base. Pharmaceutical preparations having diuretic, saliuretic and hypotensive properties comprise the above compounds or salts thereof, such as the hydrohalide, sulphate, tartrate, citrate, succinate, maleate, acetate, benzoate, hexahydrobenzoate, methansulphonate, fumarate or gallate and an inert carrier. They may be in forms suitable for oral administration.
