abstract | 962,284. Heat exchangers; radiators for space heating or cooling; refrigerating. OLIN MATHIESON CHEMICAL CORPORATION. April 11, 1962 [May 9, 1961], No. 14071/62. Headings F4H and F4S. [Also in Divisions B3 and E1] A heat-exchanger panel, e.g. forced convection type which may be used for heat exchange between fluids for space heating or cooling or as an evaporator in refrigerator systems, Fig. 10, comprises an outer member 29 and an outer member 30 having laminations 26, integrally connected by transverse members 28. The laminations may be inflated to form tubular passageways. In an alternative form a sheet, Fig. 17, comprises outer members 42, 43, integrally connected to a central member 41 by transverse cross members. The member 41 has a tubular passage 44 between each pair of cross members and is integrally bonded to the outer members along edges 45, 46. In another alternative form a sheet, Fig. 19, comprises an outer member 60 and an outer member 61 having laminations 56 integrally connected together by webs 62. The forms shown in Figs. 11, 12, comprise sheets in which one or both of the outer members are provided with spaced tubular passageways which also provide a ribbed effect on the outer faces of the members. Materials such as aluminium, aluminium alloys, copper alloys, titanium, zirconium, steel or similar alloys may be used in the construction of the panels which can also be used as structural members. Specifications 759,831 and U.S.A. Specification 2,766,514 are referredto. |
