The present invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions comprising 3-isoxalidinone or carboxyalkyl hydroxamic acid derivatives. The invention allows the use of the compositions for the therapeutic and prophylactic treatment of infections caused by bacteria, fungi and parasites in humans and animals.
