abstract 1. Segment for an insulation jacket for fluid conduits, particularly distant heating pipe lines, made of foamed, heat-insulating material, particularly hard polyurethane foam, comprising segments (1) to be joined one to the other and being bendable one with respect to the other, said segments being encircled by a flexible envelope tube or envelope hose (8), characterised in that the inner surface (2') and the outer surface (3) of the segment (1) are formed as surfaces of revolution having curved generatrices and are barrel-shaped whereby when the pipe line is brought to a bent condition the fluid conduit may engage the barrel-shaped inner surface (2') and the envelope hose nay engange the barrel-shaped outer surface (3) of the bent segments (1) at a respective course of curvature of the pipe line so that the fluid conduit and the bent joints of the segments are subjected to relatively low mechanical loading.
