abstract 1417996 Maleopimarimide derivatives ROUSSEL LABORATORIES Ltd 28 Sept 1973 [13 Oct 1972] 47437/72 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds of formula wherein NR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP> is an optionally substituted heterocyclic radical and Y is H, NH 2 , acyl, or alkyl (optionally substituted by OCOCONR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>, or by one or more of OH, dialkylamino or alkoxycarbonyl), each alkyl or acyl group containing up to 5 C atoms. In examples, these compounds are prepared by reacting (1) the corresponding cyclic anhydride (made from the cyclic anhydride/acid chloride (A) and HNR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>) with YNH 2 ; (2) the corresponding cyclic imide/ acid chloride (B) with HNR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>; (3) the analogous compound where Y=K, with a Y-halide; or (4) (for the compound where Y is OCOCONR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>-substituted alkyl) the acid chloride precursor of the analogous compound where Y is OCOCOCl, with HNR<SP>1</SP>R<SP>2</SP>. Intermediates otherwise prepared are the parent acids of the chlorides (A), (B). Therapeutic compositions for oral, parenteral or rectal administration comprise compounds of the above formula, which have hepatoprotective activity.n[GB1417996A]
