Methods for enriching, isolating and culturing dihalogenase-containing microorganisms, and paper products containing microbial residues |
abstract |
(57) The present invention provides a method for increasing the population of a microorganism to a level effective for dehalogenating a nitrogen-free organic halogen compound present in a polymerization reaction product. Enrich microorganisms containing dehalogenases, A method is provided for isolating and subsequently culturing the isolated microorganism. The present invention also provides a paper product comprising the nitrogen-containing cationic polymer and microbial residue. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] B. adding an environmental sample containing a plurality of solid group microorganisms to the nitrogen-containing polymer and the nitrogen-free organic halogen compound; Incubating the mixed population of microorganisms, C.I. Separating the dihalogenase-containing microorganism from the incubated microorganism population; A method of culturing a dihalogenase-containing microorganism solid group to at least 5 × 10 7 cells per milliliter; A nitrogen-containing cationic polymer; A paper product comprising a microbial residue present in an amount of up to about 100 g per ton of dry paper product, wherein the enzyme is capable of dehalogenating a nitrogen-free organohalogen compound without substantially altering the polymer. Including paper products. |
