abstract |
[PROBLEMS] To suppress a decomposition reaction and a hydrolysis reaction (reverse reaction) of a catalyst due to by-produced water, to obtain a desired carbonate in an increased yield, and to control a reaction operation. -To provide an industrially advantageous method for producing a carbonate ester in which a reaction can be carried out in a homogeneous system that can be easily controlled. (I) a step of reacting an alcohol and carbon dioxide in the presence of a metal catalyst to obtain a carbonate ester; i) a step of cooling the reaction solution obtained from the reaction step (i) ii) a step of dehydrating the reaction liquid cooled in the cooling step, and (iv) a step of circulating the reaction liquid dehydrated in the dehydration step to the reaction step (i). |
