(57) [Summary]nThe bifunctional green fluorescent protein (GFP) -annexin fusion protein combines the inherent strong visible fluorescent properties of GFP with the anionic phospholipid binding specificity of annexin. Recombinant host cells, especially bacteria, are used to effectively express a fusion protein suitable for high-speed, one-step affinity purification in high yield and in soluble form. Applications include selective cell and biochemical labeling, particularly of anionic species, for example, selective labeling of apoptotic cells. |
