titleOfInvention Method for producing saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (E) VOH) is efficiently and safely manufactured by improving the chip washing process and suppressing the poor appearance of a molded article such as a film. SOLUTION: An EVOH chip is introduced in a state containing methanol from a tower upper part 1 of a tower type washer 10, water is introduced from a tower lower part 3 of the tower type washer, and the concentration of methanol in the solution in the tower upper part is 25. The impurities, methanol and water are led out from the tower top 2 while the chips are settled from the top of the tower while keeping the weight at ~ 45% by weight, and the chips are led out from the tower bottom 4 together with water containing methanol having a lower concentration than the concentration in the tower top. I do. An adjusting solution containing methanol may be introduced from the upper part 1 of the tower.
