abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing an aromatic hydrocarbon from a molecular sieve used in a guard bed in an adsorption separation method for separating an olefin hydrocarbon from a paraffin hydrocarbon. SOLUTION: The molecular sieve guard bed 4 is regenerated by a method of recovering valuable hydrocarbons from the guard bed void. The method includes first contacting a sieve with a purge stream and feeding the first effluent from the guard bed to a raffinate column 26 to recover olefinic hydrocarbons in the voids of the bed. The effluent flow from the guard bed is then sent to another fractionation tower 29.
