PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer having a functional group at one end of a cycloolefin polymer by subjecting a cycloolefin monomer to metathesis polymerization in the presence of a chain transfer agent having a functional group, and using the polymer. Provision of block copolymers by copolymerization with MMA and styrene. SOLUTION: This is a cycloolefin polymer obtained by metathesis polymerization, wherein only one terminal has a general formula: CH 2 CHCH -Z 1 -Q 1 or CH 2 CHCH-Z 2- (Q 2 ) A cycloolefin polymer having a functional group derived from the chain transfer agent represented by (Q 3 ), a block copolymer using the polymer, and a method for producing the same. |
