(57) [Summary]nAn allylic copolymer resin and a method for producing the same are disclosed. The resin is produced by copolymerizing an ethylene monomer, a monofunctional allylic monomer, and a polyfunctional allylic monomer under free radical conditions. The polyfunctional allylic monomer is used in an amount and in a manner effective to provide a copolymer having a polydispersity (Mw / Mn) in the range of about 5 to about 30. The resin is easy to produce even in bulk polymerization and is particularly useful, for example, as a resin for a toner, a thermosetting resin, a reactive plasticizer, and a rheology modifier. |
