(57) [Problem] To provide an image display device having excellent withstand voltage against discharge and improved image quality. A face plate having an image display surface is provided. And a rear plate 10 provided with a plurality of electron sources 18 for exciting the image display surface, the rear plate 10 being opposed to the face plate with a gap therebetween, and between the face plate and the rear plate. A grid 24 and a plurality of spacers 30a, 30b are provided. The coefficient of thermal expansion of the grid is set to 70% or more and less than 100 of the coefficient of thermal expansion of the glass constituting the face plate and the rear plate in the range of about 30 to 100 ° C. |
