An ink-jet recording material having at least one ink-receiving layer on a water-resistant support, wherein the ink-receiving layer contains inorganic fine particles, a hydrophilic binder, and a fluorescent whitening agent, and further comprises hydrazine. An ink-jet recording material comprising at least one of a derivative, a sulfur-containing organic compound, and a saccharide. In particular, The ink receiving layer is two or more layers, the lower layer near the water-resistant support contains a fluorescent whitening agent, and the upper layer remote from the water-resistant support contains at least one of a hydrazine derivative, a sulfur-containing organic compound, and a saccharide.
