(57) Abstract This invention provides a sequence of 5,300 nucleotides from the E. canis genome. Four proteins, ProA, ProB, ORF and a cytochrome oxidase homolog, and a partial lipoprotein signal peptidase homolog, also at the carboxy terminus, were encoded in the cloned fragment. The antigenicity of these proteins allows them to be used to make vaccines. Examples of the invention include the production of DNA vaccines, recombinant vaccines and T cell epitope vaccines. |
