abstract A sound quality is improved by improving reliability of howling detection. SOLUTION: An audio output means for outputting a transmitted received signal as audio, an audio capturing means for converting captured audio into an electric signal and transmitting the electric signal as a transmission signal, and an adaptive echo canceller means. The adaptive echo canceller means updates the tap coefficient adaptively according to the received signal, and subtracts the pseudo echo signal generated according to the tap coefficient from the transmission signal using predetermined subtraction means. In a howling processing apparatus for processing howling in an environment in which an echo removal signal is obtained, a howling detection unit that determines the presence or absence of the howling by a determination process according to the magnitude of the value of the pseudo echo signal is provided.
