titleOfInvention | Biological production of p-hydroxycinnamic acid |
abstract | The present invention provides several methods for biologically producing p-hydroxycinnamic acid (PHCA). The invention also relates to the discovery of novel fungi and bacteria that have the function of converting cinnamate to PHCA. The present invention focuses on the function of converting tyrosine of wild-type PAL to PHCA, and has been used in E. coli from yeast Rhodotorula glutinis. The present invention relates to developing a novel biocatalyst for converting glucose to PHCA by incorporating wild-type PAL into E. coli. The present invention also relates to a plant cytochrome P-450 and a cytochrome P-450 reductase in addition to wild-type PAL obtained from the yeast Rhodotorula glutinis. It is also concerned with developing new biocatalysts for converting glucose to PHCA by incorporation into E. coli. In yet another embodiment, the present invention provides a method for developing a novel biocatalyst by mutagenizing PAL of wild-type yeast with enhanced tyrosine ammonia lyase (TAL) activity. |
