abstract |
A method for producing a metal organic acid chelate in a non-aqueous medium is provided. Providing an organic acid ligand; providing a metal compound selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal hydroxides and metal salts; providing a non-aqueous liquid; Adding the organic acid ligand and the metal compound to the non-aqueous liquid to form a suspension; reacting the existing organic acid ligand and metal compound; and Heating the suspension with stirring for a time sufficient to obtain a desired reaction rate to form, and filtering the suspension to obtain a metal organic acid chelate.
