abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient and durable material containing a specific 3,6-diarylcarbazole derivative as a component constituting a single layer or a plurality of organic layers such as a hole transport layer, a light emitting layer, and an electron transport layer. A novel organic light-emitting device that is extremely excellent is provided. In an organic electroluminescent device composed of a single layer or a plurality of organic layers between an anode and a cathode facing each other, a 3,6-diarylcarbazole derivative represented by the following general formula (1): An organic electroluminescent device comprising at least one layer. [Chemical 1] Wherein R ′ and R ″ represent a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group or an aryl group which may have a substituent, and R ″ ′ represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group or substituent.
