titleOfInvention A drug having action-inhibiting action or killing action on non-human animals containing D-glutamic acid or its related compounds as an active ingredient
abstract 【Task】 It is an object of the present invention to provide a drug having an action-inhibiting action or killing action on non-human animals, which contains D-glutamic acid or its related compounds as an active ingredient, and a method for identifying a compound having action-inhibiting action or killing action on non-human animals. To do. [Solution] As a result of an attempt to search for neurotransmitters that cause muscle contraction by injecting drugs into decerebrated silkworm larvae specimens, it was found that D-glutamic acid, kainic acid, and D-aspartic acid cause muscle contraction. L-glutamic acid did not cause muscle contraction and conversely inhibited muscle contraction by kainic acid and D-glutamic acid. It was also found that silkworm larvae were killed by administration of kainic acid and ingestion of diet mixed with D-glutamic acid. From the above results, it is considered that D-glutamic acid and its related compounds having behavior-inhibiting action or killing action on non-human animals of the present invention are effective as insecticides and pesticides.
