titleOfInvention Liquid crystal display
abstract 【Task】 When performing photo-alignment, alignment defects due to double irradiation of polarized light are eliminated. [Solution] It consists of a pair of substrates at least one of which is transparent, a liquid crystal layer, and an electrode group for applying an electric field to the liquid crystal layer, and the taper angle at the end of the electrode group is greater than 45 degrees and less than 90 degrees. When the thickness is x, the taper angle of the edge is θ, and the film thickness of the alignment control film is y, the following relationship is established: y> x / 2sin 2 θ, and the alignment control is performed by light irradiation with the alignment control film polarized almost linearly. The liquid crystal display device is characterized by being made of a material capable of imparting performance. [Selection] Figure 1
