abstract |
【Task】 To provide a porous electrocatalyst layer excellent in mechanical characteristics and a method for producing the same while improving power generation performance by making gas diffusibility or water discharge compatible with electron conductivity or proton conductivity. [Solution] The porous electrocatalyst layer according to the present invention comprises catalyst-supporting carbon particles and an ion conductive component-containing aromatic polymer, and has a pore volume of 0.1 to 3.0 ml / g. Such a porous electrocatalyst layer of the present invention is prepared by preparing an electrode catalyst paste composition containing catalyst-supporting carbon particles, an ion conductive component-containing aromatic polymer and a cast solvent, and placing the electrode catalyst paste composition on a substrate. After forming a thin film by coating, the thin film can be produced by contact treatment with a treatment solution containing a poor solvent compatible with the cast solvent.
