Disclosed are cassette-based systems and methods for storing, delivering, and recovering hydrogen. A cassette or other container contains hydrogen storage material or hydrogen storage material. Information is stored in the material and then read or accessed. A probe is used to investigate the material. The hydrogen content or other properties of the material are determined based on the survey. The hydrogen dispensing unit includes a depletion cassette receiving device for receiving a depletion cassette, and a filling cassette dispenser for dispensing the filling cassette. The dispensing unit is implemented in a hydrogen retail store or as an independent unit. A retail store or unit is connected to a hydrogen network to implement the various business methods disclosed herein. |
