abstract |
Systems and techniques for applying an electromagnetic field to body tissue include a stand-alone, portable electromagnetic field generator (26) disposed on the surface of the body tissue such that the radiated electromagnetic field impacts the body tissue. The instrument includes an electromagnetic field generator coupled to an antenna arranged to radiate an electromagnetic field. A power source (10) is coupled to the generator to provide power to the instrument, and an initiator (12) is used to initiate the emission of the electromagnetic field. Also disclosed are methods of inducing current in body tissue to treat disorders such as pain-related disorders. |
