abstract Provided is a hedge trimmer in which wear of a guide bar is suppressed and maintenance is good, and the weight is reduced. An upper blade 30 and a lower blade 40 that extend so as to overlap each other in the longitudinal direction and reciprocate, and an upper blade 30 and a lower blade that are located above the upper blade 30 and extend along the longitudinal direction of the upper blade. In the hedge trimmer including the guide bar 50 that supports the blade 40, the guide bar 50 is made of a light metal such as aluminum, and at least the lower surface 50a of the guide bar 50 is plated so as to contact the upper blade upper surface 30a. Concavities and convexities 33 are provided on at least one of the guide bar lower surface 50a and the upper blade upper surface 30a, and a chamfered portion communicating with the concavities and convexities 33 is provided on the edge portion on the blade portion of the guide bar lower surface 50a. The lubricant contained in the case containing the motion conversion mechanism is supplied from the blade side of the upper blade 30 to the guide bar lower surface 50a and the upper blade upper surface 30a to lubricate these surfaces.
