| abstract |
Devices and methods are used to make ready-to-apply tapes from raw fabrics. This tape can be used as a reinforcement, breaker and cap ply in a tire carcass. The tape is made by immersing a raw cloth containing a plurality of single-ended cords in solution-type cement. The cement containing the solvent and elastomer component is dried so that most of the solvent is evaporated. The elastomer component remains to coat the fabric, thereby forming a tape. |
