(A) treating an FCC equilibrium catalyst containing alumina and zeolite with an acid solution to obtain an acid-treated equilibrium catalyst; and b) treating the acid-treated equilibrium catalyst with an aqueous solution or suspension of a divalent metal compound. A process for producing a catalyst composition comprising the step of contacting with a suspension. According to this method, even if the FCC equilibrium catalyst is highly contaminated with vanadium, it can be upgraded and re-preferred for use in the catalytic process, for example as a catalyst additive in FCC. |
