Novel compounds that are A 1 adenosine receptor partial agonists and A 1 adenosine receptor full agonists are disclosed. These compounds have the formula I: These compounds are useful for treating various disease states, particularly cardiac tachycardia and atrial flutter, angina pectoris, and myocardial infarction. These compounds are also useful for treating central nervous system (CNS) disorders, diabetic diseases, obesity. The invention also relates to methods for preparing such compounds and pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds. |
