abstract A control device for an internal combustion engine that estimates an alcohol concentration of fuel supplied to the internal combustion engine while suppressing manufacturing cost. A fuel pump is an electric pump using a DC motor as a power source, and the DC motor is a brushless motor (non-commutator electric motor). A pump controller 17 is connected to the fuel pump 14, and an ECU 18 is connected to the controller 17. The ECU 18 and the pump controller 17 detect the behavior of the fuel pump 14 corresponding to the drive input to the DC motor 14a, and estimate the alcohol concentration of the fuel based on the detected behavior of the fuel pump 14.
