abstract There is provided a gas sensor having high selectivity to a gas species which is a volatile organic compound and capable of detecting and measuring with high sensitivity. A housing, a cathode electrode disposed at the bottom of the housing, a solid electrolyte membrane disposed on the cathode electrode, and an anode electrode disposed on the solid electrolyte membrane. 6, a mediator-impregnated layer 7 that is disposed on the anode electrode 6 and includes a mediator and a reducing agent, and bacteria-fixed particles 8 that are disposed on the mediator-impregnated layer 7. Was changed to alcohol in the initial stage. For this reason, the organic compound can be detected and measured with high sensitivity to gas species in a gaseous state and with high sensitivity.
