abstract The present invention relates to a process for producing epothilone C 1 -C 15 fragments and derivatives thereof, wherein C 1 -C 6 fragments are joined to C 7 -C 12 fragments to form C 1 -C 12 fragments, In turn, C 13 -C 15 is converted by the fragment to form the C 1 -C 15 epothilone intermediate product to be produced. The C 1 -C 15 epothilone intermediate product thus produced can be converted to the unique active ingredient according to known methods. The invention also relates to its corresponding C 1 -C 12 fragment.
