abstract |
Provided are a metal complex dye that can be suitably used for a display filter while effectively absorbing light of a desired wavelength, and a display filter that effectively absorbs light of a desired wavelength. The metal complex dyes P and Q, which are formed by complexing a tert-butylsalicylic acid boron complex with a methine dye having a function as a neutral ligand, are visible from a light emitting source. The display filter 1 is provided in a light path reaching the outermost surface of the unit and has a function of selectively absorbing light of a specific wavelength, and the selective light absorption wavelength of the metal complex dyes P and Q is 480.
