A material and method for patterning a polymerizable amorphous base material with an electroactive material, such as a light emitting material disposed on the base material, and an element formed using the material and method. . In a method for manufacturing an organic electroluminescent device, a transfer layer is applied as a solution onto a donor substrate. The transfer layer includes a polymerizable amorphous base material in which a light emitting material is disposed. Next, the transfer layer is selectively patterned on the receptor. Next, the polymerizable amorphous matrix is polymerized. Examples of patterning methods include laser thermal transfer or thermal head transfer. The methods and related materials can be used, for example, to form organic electroluminescent devices. [Selection] Figure 2 |
